About Functional Medicine
Functional Medicine is a holistic, science-based approach to health that focuses on uncovering and addressing the root causes of symptoms and chronic conditions. Instead of relying on guesswork or treating surface-level concerns, this practice utilizes advanced biochemical and nutritional testing to understand what is happening inside your body at a deeper level. With this information, we can provide targeted, individualized care that helps you achieve your health goals and experience lasting improvements.
This model of care is built on the principle of biochemical individuality — the idea that no two people are the same. Each person’s genetics, environment, lifestyle, and stressors shape their unique health profile. Functional Medicine recognizes this individuality by using tests that assess nutrient levels, hormone balance, gut health, metabolic function, and more. By identifying deficiencies, toxicities, or imbalances, we can design a nutrition and supplement plan that truly matches your body’s needs.
Research increasingly shows that many modern health issues — from obesity and binge eating disorder (BED) to fatigue, mood imbalances, and digestive concerns — are not caused by 'lack of willpower,' but by measurable disruptions in metabolism, gut-brain signaling, or nutrient pathways. As Dr. James Greenblatt states, understanding this biology opens entirely new treatment avenues. Functional Medicine embraces this perspective, allowing for improved outcomes, more precise guidance, and effective long-term results.
At Wild Lily Holistic Health, our approach integrates Functional Medicine testing with nutrition counseling to provide you with clear answers and actionable steps. We believe every symptom has a biochemical root that can be measured and supported through science-based interventions. This empowers you to move beyond trial-and-error approaches and into a program of care that builds resilience, restores balance, and supports optimal wellness.
We welcome clients who are ready to make a meaningful investment in their health and who understand that real transformation often requires ongoing support. By committing to multiple sessions, you gain not only knowledge but also the accountability and tailored strategies needed to achieve lasting results. Your best health is our top priority — and we invite you to make it yours, too.
Nutritionist and Practitioner Emily Isaacson
Emily Isaacson, is a nutrition expert who empowers women to achieve lasting health and be their best self through her nutrition sessions and counsel. A licensed nutritionist and Functional Medicine Practitioner in the Fraser Valley, she has a women-centered practice. She holds a degree in Nutrition from Bastyr University of Natural Medicine in Washington. She is a clinical nutritionist who is also trained in orthomolecular nutrition, and the effects of mega-vitamin supplementation on mental health as taught by the late Dr. Abram Hoffer.
Emily Isaacson has previously worked in eating disorder treatment centers in both Victoria and Seattle with great success. She has learned principles that work for turning eating disorder sufferers around, and quickly. She has spoken at secondary schools to teach teens about eating disorders. She is empathetic and practical, and her unconventional approach toward overweight, obesity, and binge-eating, helps clients who want to lose weight learn to accept themselves, raise their metabolic rates, and lose weight intuitively without being put on strict diets.
Emily Isaacson is the creator of a daily recommendation food site called The Rainbow Program. This program teaches clients to balance antioxidants for a colour-rich food plate. She implements the far-reaching principles of this program to help people understand the benefits of improving their health by avoiding food colouring, eating brightly coloured foods, balancing their antioxidant intake, and using colour healing by wavelengths to mediate against conditions such as endogenous depression.
Emily Isaacson particularly appreciates the opportunity to work with clients who have auto-immune disease as she implements her research over 20 years on the building blocks for a healthy immune system. Emily will help you re-build your immune function using foods and supplements that are top of the line. When it comes to cutting-edge research, she is right in her assertions that people with ongoing chronic health concerns can find relief. Her scientific approach causes her to affirm that we can affect the next generation by eating right today.
Emily started her nutrition practice twenty years ago in Maple Ridge, and now serves the Fraser Valley. She seeks to inspire her clients with a positive outlook towards food, without labeling some foods "good" or "bad" and using a variety of proven and educated therapeutic approaches and therapeutic food programs, instead of just calorie controlled diets.
